SKYLAUNCH 3 GLIDER LAUNCH WINCH



This model features the same proven, and reliable drive systems as the Skylaunch 2 winch but at a much reduced cost.

 The Skylaunch 3 ‘kit’ winch is prepared for fitment of customers own engine/ transmission or motor unit to further reduce purchase price.

 ‘Club build’ winches are also offered for self build projects.

The lightweight winch is designed with built-in mounting points for attachment to a chassis or body of a small lorry or heavy duty pick-up truck.

 Skylaunch 3 can also be mounted on a trailer (see Skylaunch 3 factory fitted options) which gives easy towing on airfield or highway.  Ideal for touring to other sites.

 All models incorporate encased forklift sockets for easy lifting.



 



 

Simple colour coded controls are ergonomically positioned for safe/accurate launching.  Both cable drum brakes are controlled by a single lever.

 Unique preset selectors for glider air  speed/tension and head wind speed to launch ALL weights/speeds of gliders – any glider type is accurately launched with ease. (throttle is damped to control acceleration rate).

 Existing winch drivers are typically converted to Skylaunch operation within 6 launches.

Steel mesh roof and screen safety frame, with rotating beacon and siren, quickly folds flat for easy storage in low level buildings (eg glider  hangers).

One piece sliding engine cover and hinging rear/drum panels are easy access for instant opening.

All controls are trouble free rods and levers (not electronic, hydraulic or pneumatics).

All designs are for maximum safety in operation and minimum maintenance



 



 

Lightweight steel cable drums are reinforced, large diameter and narrow width, with anti-loop guides. 

No cable pay-on mechanisms are required.  Cable feeds onto bottom of drum for safer, trouble free operation

Will easily accommodate all materials of cable up to 3,000 metres long.  Fully machined and balanced drums produce launches of exceptional smoothness

Final drive of robust design, specifically manufactured for launching gliders to give outstanding reliability.

Hardened spline male/female couplings for drum selection and standard Lockheed disc brake system. 

All bearings, seals and fasteners etc are standard metric components
