September 2011 - 6 Drum Skydrive completed

July 2011 - Electric Winch on Trial
The Skylaunch Electric Winch has been completed and is currently undergoing trials before being shipped to France later this month. Initial testing at Stratford Gliding Club was very positive with only minor "tweaks" required to finish it off.

July 2011 - 6 Drum Skydrive nears completion
The new, 6 Drum, "SkyDrive" winch nears completion and is due to be shiped to Oerlinghausen in Germany in a few weeks time.

February 2011 - Skylaunch Electric Winch
The newest Winch under development is our basic model Skylaunch 3, but Electrically powered. It carries a pack of batteries to store enough energy then discharge it for each launch with a large Electric motor. The Winch is plugged into a high voltage mains supply on the Airfield to constantly recharge the batteries. The first one is going to Chanet Gliding Club, in Florac, France where there is a demand for electric Winches due to the funding available for “zero emissions” launching. The finished winch will look like the Skylaunch 3 pictured on the right.

January 2011 - Skylaunch 2 Evo under development
There are two more Winches ordered to go to France (one Petrol and one LPG). These are another new model we are introducing to merge the Skylaunch 2 and Skylaunch 3 which we are calling the Skylaunch 2 “Evolution”. This new model will give the best of both the Sky 2 and 3 for our customers with many extra design improvements, and reduced build time.

December 2010 - 6 Drum winch for Oerlinghausen.
A new design for Skylaunch, a six drum winch, is currenly under construction and is due for delivery in March to Oerlinghausen in Germany - the busiest gliding club in the world.

October 2010 - UAV Launcher
We've just delivered a new winch built to launch UAV planes for NATO Forces in Afghanistan. A second unit is due for delivery in the New Year.

September 2009 - 675hp winch for QinetiQ
We've just manufactured a special winch with a 675 HP engine for QinetiQ to use on a mile-long test track, towing a trolley up and down at speeds of up to 150mph. This track is at the MOD test range on Pendine Sands in South Wales and this exercise was to test military developments to help NATO Forces in Afghanistan.
